Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla will bring back a Gasparilla tradition that has not happened since 1964.  Channelside Bay Plaza and The Florida Aquarium have teamed up with Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla to present 
“Gasparilla March Triumphant:  The Return to the Sea”!

Event Details:

Beginning at 12 p.m.
The "Jose Gasparilla” sailing vessel will dock at Channelside Bay Plaza.

Live bands in the courtyard, free beads, balloon makers, and face painters at Channelside Bay Plaza.

Free admission to children 12 and under who come in pirate costume at The Florida Aquarium.  The first 500 guests will receive beads.

4:30 p.m.
Approximately 500 pirates will begin their march at The Florida Aquarium along the streets to Channelside Bay Plaza. 

6:45 p.m.
The Captain of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla will meet up with the Honorable Pam Iorio, Mayor, City of Tampa, the Mayor seeking the return of the Key to The City given to the Captain of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla at the Invasion on January 26th. Following this brief negotiation, the Captain and his mates will board their ship the “Jose Gasparilla” and will push off from Channelside with a final cannon salute launched towards downtown Tampa. Plans call for that volley to be answered with a  pyrotechnic salute from the rooftops of Channelside as Tampa salutes our favorite pirates one last time in 2008. The wharf will be open to help send off the pirates for another year.
