The Children’s Gasparilla Parade will take place at the Children's Gasparilla Extravaganza, scheduled for Saturday, January 22, 2011.

EventFest, Inc. of Tampa manages and markets the Children's Gasparilla Extravaganza including the Gasparilla Preschooler’s Stroll, Children’s Gasparilla Parade, Gasparilla Air Invasion and the “Piratechnic” Extravaganza. This event has an average attendance of over 225,000.

Please Note: Due to the growing popularity of the Gasparilla Preschooler’s Stroll, there will be NO WALK-UPS ADMITTED. You must pre-register your preschooler in order for EventFest to plan the appropriate space needed for staging.

NEW 2011 “BEST OF STROLL
EventFest, in collaboration with our celebrity judges, will reward our “Best of Stroll” winners with complimentary bleacher seating tickets for the 2011 Children’s Gasparilla Parade!

Due to the popularity of the 2009 and 2010 “Best of Stroll”, we have expanded our program for 2011 to award the top winners in three (3) different Gasparilla Preschooler’s Stroll categories! Preschooler’s Stroll registrants are asked to place themselves into one of three (3) categories: family, friends and/or neighbors or group (schools, church, social organizations, performance teams, dance troops, etc.). The category you chose reflects the relationship you have with the members or your Preschooler’s Stroll unit. Staging, line up and judging for the Preschooler’s Stroll will be based upon your unit’s classification, families at the beginning of the lineup, friends and neighbors in the middle and groups at the end. Our judges will chose top winners from each category and base their decisions on the originality, creativity, and overall presentation of:

1. Gasparilla themed costumes
And/or
2. Gasparilla themed unit (stroller, wagon, tricycle, etc.) decorations

The judging will take place at 1:30 p.m. before the start of the Gasparilla Preschooler’s Stroll. Our “Best of Stroll” winners will receive a specially produced “Best of Stroll” mylar balloon to recognize their achievement as they stroll down Bayshore. EventFest staff will distribute “Best of Stroll” balloons and complimentary reserved bleacher tickets prior to the start of the stroll.

In 2011 there will be an application/entry fee for the Children’s Gasparilla Parade, $500 for commercial applicants and $250 for non-profit organizations and/or performing groups (dance studios, performing arts academies, etc.). The Parade Committee has elected to waive the application/entry fee for school marching bands and/or school performance teams in an effort to salute and encourage school spirit and unity.

The application/entry fee may be paid by check, made out to EventFest, Inc., or credit card, a copy (front and back) of the credit card MUST be submitted with the rest of your Children’s Gasparilla Parade application. Applications without an application fee check or credit card payment will be incomplete and therefore will not be considered.

Any organization who has been denied entry into the 2011 Children’s Gasparilla Parade by the Parade Committee will receive an application/entry fee refund before the event.

If for any reason your unit cannot participate in the Children’s Gasparilla Parade and would like to request a refund, you must do so by November 1, 2010. No refunds will be issued after November 1, 2010 under any circumstances.
